Iran launches missiles targeting US military in Iraq in revenge attack

Iran said it has launched “tens” of missiles at two airbases in Iraq where US forces are housed. Iranian state TV reported the attack on the morning of January 8, 2020, saying the operation was revenge for the recent US killing in Iraq of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani. US officials have confirmed the attack on al-Asad airbase in Iraq’s western Anbar province.
