Cardi B was the queen of Superbowl commercials this year when she teamed up with Pepsi. Now, the rapper is back with the soda brand to let us know about the "Gift it Forward with Pepsi" holiday promotion. Cardi B Second Pepsi Money Christmas Commercial Ad (Gift it Forward: A Cardi Carol) | 2019.
The commercial starts out with a story about young Cardi B waiting up for Santa on Christmas night just to be left with no presents because she was on the naughty list. (Who can relate?) This is what makes Cardi B vow to grow up and gift money to everyone—even those that find themselves on the naughty list. Cue: Pepsi.
The Gift it Forward with Pepsi promotion is like a "digital scratch off game." Pepsi 12-packs this holiday season will feature QR codes that can be scanned to potentially reveal cash prizes that you can gift to anyone you want, a charity, or keep for yourself.
I mean, the promotion is cool and all, but Cardi in this commercial was the real star. After flipping through the story book of a young, present-less Cardi, it fast forwards to current day Cardi running the elf workshop just a little differently than the way Santa would.
In a blue, bejeweled suit, Cardi makes her way through the "Twerkshop" and the "Wrap Studio" supervising the elves as they pack the QR-coded Pepsi cans into boxes. Other elves are also stacking the money that Pepsi-drinkers can possibly win.
The cash prizes go from $5 all the way to $25,000. If you happen to be one of the lucky ones that wins $25,000, you can then enter a second sweepstakes that could score you an all-inclusive trip for two to Puerto Rico.
