Thousands of Poppies Drop Over Britain to Remember World War One Soldiers Thousands of poppies were dropped over Britain's Dover War Memorial as tribute to those who died during World War One, World War Two and other conflicts, Sunday, November 10.

The poppies were dropped from a World War Two-era plane above the Battle of Britain War Memorial, next to the world famous White Cliffs.

The poppy is a symbol used by Commonwealth countries to recognize the sacrifice made by members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

Veterans Day Commemorations are also underway in the United States. (REUTERS)
