Salvador Amezcua—a.k.a. “Kickstradomis”—has made a name for himself as one of the top custom sneaker artists in the game, racking up a massive following with his one-of-a-kind, hand-painted designs. He’s made kicks for more than 50 players in the NBA, working with pros like James Harden, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Damian Lillard. But in 2016, a car accident left Amezcua with serious injuries, and he stopped making custom shoes, forcing him to take time away from his designs and pick up a minimum-wage job in a warehouse. But after a pair of shoes he designed for an NBA player went viral, he was able to turn his hobby into a full-time career.
