One Management Strategy That Most Business Owners Don't Know | Day 28 | As a business owner there is always the expectation that you need to be working. But if you want to be a successful business owner rather than a successful employee you shouldn’t be doing the work.

Making the shift from successful employee to successful employer is really difficult for some people and often when they think they have made that shift all that really changes are their daily activities. But what someone DOES in a business doesn’t make them a successful business owner it just changes their job title.

Often people get stuck in the successful employee mindset and do what is optimal for employees to be doing.

So then what makes a “successful” boss? Someone that is able to create processes that are easy to replicate. Someone that can delegate so well that they are not required for the business to survive.

Being an employee is way easier, thats why so many people revert unintentionally to being employees. They take on work only they can do and praise themselves for being so successful and doing this thing that no one else could do. Congratulations, that is a very successful employee. That’s the easiest thing to do and it shouldn’t be glorified.

The thing that is ACTUALLY difficult to do is so difficult that most people COULDN'T do it even if they knew they had to and that’s breaking complex transactions down to organized processes that other people can follow to replicate their results.
So when evaluating your own success in your business look at how well the business would function if you had to be completely replaced quickly. If the business would collapse you aren’t a good boss, all you are is a great employee with good job security.
