The 2019 Fire Professionals of the year are a part of the county’s safety and emergency services staff who work daily to ensure Pinellas County remains a safe and secure place. Each year, the board recognizes individuals who go above and beyond when providing professional fire services to members of the community, our visitors and to their fellow members of the fire service. This year, Fire Prevention week is recognized from Oct. 6-12. The theme for 2019 is, “Not every hero wears a cape. Plan and practice your escape.” It aims to motivate everyday people to practice with the members of their households to develop a home fire escape plan. The individuals who you’re about to see don’t wear capes, but they are heroes.
