This time of year is breeding season for many kinds of birds - and many people are likely to have found a juvenile swift or sparrow out of its nest. But whether or not you should rescue them, or leave them where they are, depends on what type of bird you find.
This is according to the Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park team, which encourages people to bring in any juvenile swifts they find in need of help.
It adds, however, that other kinds of fledglings - young birds that are just starting to learn to fly - should be left near their nests.
