English - The C Class Locomotive would have to be an all time favourite with Victorian Rail Fans. All current operational former Victorian Railways C Class Locomotives are now based in New South Wales and very rarely make a trip to Victoria. So when a C Class Locomotive is rostered to run a freight train in Victoria, enthusiasts get a bit excited! When the train runs in daylight hours and the C Class leads, everyone heads line side for a look!
Here is SSR Standard Gauge loaded Barley Train from New South Wales heading to Geelong for unloading. C504 is leading 4911 and RL302. The former Leigh Creek Coal Hoppers that were converted to transport grain are carting the barley.
The train is seen in Melbourne's northern suburbs mid afternoon 10th June 2019.
