HOME BIRTH VLOG: Water Birth In OFF GRID Paradise

HOME BIRTH VLOG: Water Birth In OFF GRID Paradise HELLO - I know that a lot of you have been waiting for this video, and its an absolute honour to share with you the calm, gentle homebirth of our son. It was the most beautiful day and everything was exactly how we imagined it. I woke up around 2am on the 29th and knew that he would be born that day. We went back to sleep and after breakfast went for a really long walk to get contractions going. It was around 10-11 that they started to become consistent and needing my focus. I spent most of my labour in the pool - although a few times we broke it up by going for short walks, I also spent a little time on the deck holding onto Chris's gymnastic rings.

The active part of labour lasted about two hours - it was intense but I felt to incredibly supported and was able to remain calm and focused. I kept repeating affirmations like:
"This too shall pass"
"I am open"
"I am Strong"
"I can do this"

I kept picturing myself opening and our baby dropping lower and lower.

In the video - in one of the most intense surges I suddenly began feeling the need to push. The pushing part lasted between 10-15minutes. I went inwards and couldn't make a sound at this point so Chris didn't realise I was pushing yet, when our son was actually crowning.

We set up cameras and just let them roll, so this was our best attempt at showing you the general progression of labour. I will most likely write an entire birth story and share more details about what I was going through and how I felt ect.

This is a very vulnerable and special video for us to share, hope you enjoy xoxo
