Are witnesses important in Florida bicycle accident cases? Witnesses, just like in any other case, are very important. An officer can do a good job of writing a report by putting together all of the information that he's gotten from all of the witnesses, and from looking at the accident scene, and the injuries, and sometimes the damage to the property there.
However, a witness is the only one that can testify in court later on about how the accident actually occurred. So it's typically a two person case, however, if you've got witnesses that saw what happened, an independent witness' testimony is much more important than your testimony of course.
