Criminal Charges for Filming Montgomery Co. (MD) Police

Criminal Charges for Filming Montgomery Co. (MD) Police A few weeks ago, I was a defendant in a Maryland district court facing two criminal charges from an incident that happened last June. It started when Officers Christopher Brown and Jason Halko from the Montgomery County Police Department stopped me on my bicycle.

When the stop was over, they left me with two criminal citations. One for failure to stop at a stop sign. The other for failure to display a county registration sticker on my bicycle. But as this video shows, the real reason I got charged was for asserting my constitutional rights. With my criminal case resolved, I’m sharing my story to show how police misuse dumb laws to punish people who upset them.
