Though she may be but little, she is fierce We take no chances with our boy's safety. A dog is beyond efficient when living in the country. They are great for seeing, smelling and identifying threats, long before humans will.
The Parsons Jack Russell Terrier is the perfect match for our family. She is only 4 months old but quickly earning her keep. Nose in the wind and watching the hillsides while staying close by when we are outdoors. A larger dog can be more defensive, but large dogs can easily kill children. Even dogs that have grown up with the children have killed the child. With a small dog, that is not a concern. We always have children over visiting as well and would never want a dog that could possibly injure another visiting child.
But make no mistake, theis breed is extrordinary. They are very intelligent, fearless in battle and take on the personality of the owner. They will sleep all day and run all the next without signs of fatigue.
We believe in protection and each member of the household knows their place on the team. Just yesterday while she stood nearby while I pulled some weeds, her nose was high in the air and her stare piercing into the brush. Her low and incesant growl was all it took for me to assess any danger. She knows her place and fills it well!
