One of the largest predators to have existed was that of the giant Megalodon. It could also be argued that it was one of the greatest predators to have lived on our planet. Scientists have given many reason why this giant went extinct, some range from climate changes, while others suggest there main food source which was whale migrated to colder water.
But some scientists and researchers have said the min reason for its decline comes down to its size. This shark was massive. Megalodon could easily reach lengths of up to 60 feet and had a bite more powerful than that of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Strangely enough, although sharing a timeline that would have placed this creature on earth around the same time as our prehistoric ancestors, suddenly and quite rapidly the megalodon went extinct.
