Acrylic Pour Fluid Art Video - Shelee Art Bloom Technique Feather Experiment

Acrylic Pour Fluid Art Video - Shelee Art Bloom Technique Feather Experiment In this acrylic pour fluid art video I create a feather using the Shelee Art pouring medium and cell activator (*full product details below*). Recently, I have enjoyed using different techniques to create feathers and I wanted to try a feather with this pouring medium. I completed a test run and I was happy with the result so I decided to make that my next video for the following evening but I am impatient, sleep could wait. Colours used - Amsterdam prussian blue, turquoise blue, permanent violet, primary yellow, phthalo green, DecoArt neon fiery red and Liquitex Basics in gold, silver and dioxazine purple with pearl ex reflex violet. I probably used too many colours but I wanted to see how many would show up to the party in the end.

A special shout out and a huge thank you to Erica Hughes. Erica has been so helpful and supportive recently and for nothing in return, she's just a good person. She provided me with a discount code for this online course. Once I had completed the course, I was completely in the dark (product wise), flapping and spinning but Erica came to my rescue and supplied me with a list of comparable products that she had sourced in Ireland. In addition to all of this help, she directed her adorable subscribers my way, how cool is that? We need more Erica's in the world. Thank you Erica.

Kanella Ciraco provides a full tutorial, including product details on her channel. She is based in Canada.

Also the lovely Tammy Anderson who is based in the US gives a detailed tutorial on this technique.

I appreciate the importance of visual demonstration and I highly recommend watching these three lovely ladies, they are brilliant artists that you can learn from...channel links below

****Products Used****
Pillow:
- Valspar, interior walls and ceiling, white silk

Pouring Medium:
- 3 parts - Valspar, Wood and Metal, Base C (NOT tinted)
- 1 part - Rustins, Quick Dry Varnish, Clear Gloss

This ratio is an estimate and to be used as a guide only. I use 2-3 parts pouring medium to 1 part paint (approximately).

Cell Activator:
- Amsterdam oxide black or titanium white (I used black for this video, both work for me)
- Australian Floetrol or Water

The floetrol I can get in Ireland is not the same as the Australian floetrol. Erica Hughes Art gave me a great tip of using just water and paint as my cell activator and it worked a treat. I did order Australian floetrol (I suffer from FOMO) which arrived in time for this video so I used it. It does make a small difference but I am not sure if it makes enough of a difference to warrant the price tag, I will continue to experiment with this.

I have also used Crown Trade - Matte Vinyl Emulsion in Neutral Base with Johnstone's - Polyurethane Varnish, Clear Gloss which worked well but I did find the consistency very thick and it needed thinned with water/flow aid. Personally, I prefer the Valspar/Rustins pouring medium.
Let me know what you think

Thanks for watching
