SC Puts Off J&K Pleas By A Day Over Ayodhya Hearing and Other Top Stories of 30th September 2019

Top stories of 30th September 2019:

1. The Supreme Court today put off by a day all petitions related to Jammu and Kashmir, where massive security restrictions are in place since the government scrapped special status to the state under Article 370. It referred the pleas to a Constitution bench which would hear the matter from Tuesday.

2. The Supreme Court has directed the Gujarat government to give within two weeks Rs 50 lakh compensation, a job and an accommodation of choice to Bilkis Bano, who was gang raped when she was five months pregnant during the 2002 riots in the state

3. The death toll due to incessant rainfall and flood in different areas of Bihar rose to 29 today. The weather office has warned of more rain in the 24 districts in state in the next 24 hours. Schools in Patna are closed till Tuesday anticipating heavy rain.
