In today's video, I break down 3 Simple Tips to show you How To Fix Your "Chicken Wing"! A "chicken wing" is the most common problem when it comes to shooting a basketball. This is something that affects a ton of players all over the world. I'm pumped to share with you some tips that can help you solve the reason why you have a "chicken wing". Shooting is the most important aspect of a player's success in basketball today. Becoming a basketball player that can shoot out of any situation whether it's catch and shoot or shooting off the dribble is incredibly valuable. Make sure you pay close attention throughout the video so you can improve your jump shot, and skyrocket your shooting percentage! These simple basketball shooting techniques are super easy to implement for players at every level. By implementing these tips into your game you can almost immediately skyrocket your shooting percentage!
My first talking point I dive in and explain to you the importance of "your feet"! This is a hugely underrated aspect when it comes to shooting and if your feet are not in the correct position it can definitely be a leading cause as to why a player might be having issues with their elbow flaring out. We often find that the best shooters in the NBA all do a fantastic job having their feet tilted. This allows them to be able to shoot with ultimate fluidity and consistency! If we look at the best shooters in the NBA think of guys like James Harden, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson they do a phenomenal job of turning their feet thus this allows their elbow to stay in when shooting. When it comes to shooting with precise accuracy basketball is just like any other hand-eye coordination sport, make sure you are locking in on your target before you shoot!
My second tip on How To Fix Your "Chicken Wing" is to experiment using different hand positions! Often times the reason why people have a chicken wing is that they try shoving their hand behind the ball the added tension causes their elbow to flare out. If we look at a shooter like Damian Lillard or Trae Young both shooter keep their hand on top of the ball this does two things it lets them keep perfect alignment, and it allows them to release the tension caused by shoving their hand behind the ball. There are a few different hand positions that can help, so make sure you experiment with them and see what is comfortable for you.
My third tip on How To Fix Your "Chicken Wing" is to fix your shot line. This is something we see with a lot of players that have a problem with their elbow flaring out when they shoot. By moving your shot line over it allows for much better alignment. If we look at the best shooters in the world think of a guy like Stephen Curry he has perfect alignment when shooting. I basically always travels up the exact same line every time. Straightening your shot line out can certainly help you eliminate your chicken wing problem.

As always make sure you are paying close attention to these basketball shooting form tips so when the time comes you can really expand your game to the next level! Watch the video all the way through and implement these 3 tips on How To Fix Your "Chicken Wing" tips into your and basketball workouts today!
