The House of Lords passed the bill preventing no-deal Brexit, in London on Friday. The bill requires the Prime Minister to request another Brexit delay from Brussels until at least January 31, unless the Parliament approves the existing agreement or approves a no-deal leave.
"We have heard many concerns raised with this bill. But ,more fundamentally, the issues at play here are not just technical, it is about seriously undermining negotiations that could achieve a deal before 31 October, frustrating the referendum result, and stopping Brexit," said Minister at Department for Exiting EU, Martin Callanan.
The bill, having been passed with no amendments, does not have to go through the House of Commons again and is expected to be granted royal assent, and thus become law on Monday.
