Serbian stars Boban Marjanovic and Bogdan Bogdanovic commended the effort shown by Gilas Pilipinas in their FIBA World Cup game on Monday, even after they clobbered the Filipinos, 126-67, at the Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center.
Gilas Pilipinas was simply overmatched against Serbia, ranked fourth in the world by FIBA. An 18-2 run in the second quarter, anchored by Nikola Jokic, turned what had been a relatively close game into a 62-35 lead by Serbia at the half.
Afterward, Serbian center Boban Marjanovic credited scouting for how they played against the Philippines.
