Enhanced surcharge not applicable on capital gains from equity: FM Sitharaman

Panaji (Goa), Sep 20 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Goa’s Panaji on September 20, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “In order to stabilise the flow of funds into the capital market, it is provided that the enhanced surcharge introduced in Budget of July 2019 shall not apply on capital gains arising on sale of equity share in a company or a unit of a equity oriented fund.”
