Using the rule of thirds filmmaking is somewhat different that using the rule of thirds photography. With pictures, you have time to frame your shot using the rule of thirds because its a static shot, but with rule of thirds video, subjects or cameras are typically moving during the scene. This video provides rule of thirds examples from movies to see how this rule of thirds composition works with moving subjects by placing a rule of thirds grid over the footage. Have the rule of thirds explained this way helps you to start understanding rule of thirds filmmaking and also to show you how to use rule of thirds for video. If you don't know what is rule of thirds, I have a separate video linked that will help you understand the framing rule of thirds concepts before moving on to this more in depth filmmaking rule of thirds tutorial. Using a rule of thirds grid can be useful in your editing because you can do rule of thirds cropping with your footage to make things line up better with the framing rule of thirds composition concepts. I hope this Camber Motion rule of thirds examples video was useful in helping you understand the rule of thirds for beginners so that you can apply these rule of thirds composition techniques in your next project!
