Mcdonald's paper straws cannot be recycled (UK/Éire) - BBC London News - 5th August 2019

McDonald's new paper straws - described as "eco-friendly" by the US fast food giant - cannot be recycled. Switching to paper from plastic in the UK and Éire (Republic of Ireland) last year, straws have to be dumped in general waste.
