Hi folks, my name is teacher Lin Li Yi and I’d like to bust a myth for you, so here we go. “Does your skin release oil because it’s too dry?”

答案：臉出油不是因為皮膚太乾，是因為毛孔裡的【皮脂腺受到熱刺激】
皮脂腺這東西，除了手掌、腳掌沒有之外。
Answer: The skin on your face doesn’t release oil because it’s too dry, it’s because the oil glands inside your pores have become hot (you have these pores on every part of your body other than your palms and the soles of your feet).
全身體表都有皮脂腺，大部份的皮脂腺都存在毛孔裡。
但是有些皮脂腺是存在體表外，例如：乳頭（乳暈）、嘴唇、女性陰部、男性龜頭。
Your entire body has these oil glands, most of which are located in your pores.
皮膚出油是為了要保持水份避免過度乾燥，造成皮膚傷害。
Your skin will secrete oil in order to keep moisture in and avoid cracking
人是有體溫的動物，核心溫度平均在３６度，
體表溫度平均在３４－３２度之間。
Humans are warm blooded and have an average inner temperature of around 36 degrees and an outer temperature usually between 34 - 32 degrees.
溫度會讓水份蒸發掉，皮膚一旦沒有了水份，
容易造成乾燥、脫皮、嚴重時會裂開流血。
Heat will cause moisture to evaporate and when skin loses moisture it becomes dry, which can lead to flaking and in extreme cases, cracking and bleeding.
「皮脂腺本身是受熱的感官」
它只有在遇熱時，才會分泌出油脂。
Oil glands are heat sensitive and will only secrete oil when they become hot.
所謂的熱，指的是，氣溫 室溫 體溫
當這三種溫度上升時，皮膚機制就會刺激皮脂出油。
出油的目的是為了保護皮膚。
There are three kinds of heat, air temperature, room temperature and body temperature. If all three of these temperatures rise then the skin system will stimulate the glands to release oil. The whole objective of this is to protect the skin.

什麼季節，皮膚最容易乾燥？
Which time of year is your skin most likely to dry out?
對，是秋冬，在秋冬時節，皮膚最容易出現乾癢問題。
That’s right, it’s winter! Winter is the time when your skin is most vulnerable to becoming dry and itchy.
那什麼季節，皮膚最容易出油？
Which time of year is your skin most likely to secrete oil?
沒錯，是夏季。
Summer, of course!
依照標題理論，皮膚出油是因為太乾，那麼冬天皮膚最乾，但是，妳的皮膚有大出油，油到狂冒痘痘粉刺嗎？
並沒有，對不對。
If it was true that your skin released oil when it was too dry, then when your skin is at it’s driest, in the winter, do you find that you have very oily skin?
No, of course not!

大家都知道
只有炎熱的夏天才會大出油 而且夏天最會長痘痘粉刺　
為什麼？#因為熱
Everyone knows, in sweltering hot summer weather your skin will get oily, and summer is also the time you’re most likely to get spots, why?
Because of heat!

這時候，己經大出油了，妳又誤信傳言瘋狂補保濕用品的話
那會發生什麼事？
If at this moment, when your skin is already too oily, you then keep crazily applying moisturiser to your skin, what do you think will happen?
對，就是粉刺痘痘長個不停，如雨後春荀般，大長特長。
Thats right, more spots will keep appearing on your face and you won’t be able to stop them!

正確的皮膚保養，是皮膚太油時，要用洗面乳把油洗掉，
單用清水，是無法保持臉部皮膚清潔的，
因為，水無法分解油脂。
The correct way to take care of the skin on your face is to wash it when it’s oily in order to clear out the pores. However, you can’t simply use water because water can’t break up oil particles.

就像碗盤油油的，你用水沖，你覺得會乾淨嗎？
Just like when you’re washing oily dishes, if you simply rinse them with water, do you think they’ll be clean afterwards?
不會。洗碗盤需要使用洗碗精。
Nope, you need the washing up liquid!
因為裡面的界面活性劑才能分解油脂和髒污。
The washing up liquid contains contact chemicals which can break up the oil particles and wash out the stains.

同樣的，洗完臉之後，一定要立刻使用適合自己的保養品，
為什麼？
In the same way, after washing your face, you need to immediately apply the correct skincare products that suit your skin.
Why?
因為臉上沒有油，皮膚上的水份會被自己的體溫給蒸發掉，
皮膚會覺得乾燥緊繃不舒服，這時候使用化妝水、精華液、乳液
這些保養品有油脂，也有適合皮膚的營養素，每次洗臉後使用，
可以幫助維持皮膚的健康，
但條件是，要用對適合自己的膚質的，才會健康。
If there’s no oil on your face at all, the moisture on your skin will be evaporated by your body temperature and your skin will feel dry and itchy. If at this time, you apply skin toner, oil of essence, skin lotion etc, these products contain oil and nutrients that are suitable for your skin, so each time you wash your face, if you use these then it’s going to help keep your skin healthy! The thing to make sure of is that the products you use are suitable for your own skin type!
用錯保養品，皮膚還是會有問題的。
If you use the wrong products for your own skin type, your skin won’t be healthy.

別再相信 皮膚太乾會造成皮膚大出油的錯誤理論了

So don’t keep thinking that dry skin will secrete oil! If your skin is too dry then it will simply flake, develop wrinkles and spots and generally look older!
