Dodge offered 14 models this year : 5 Darts, 5 Coronets, 2 Chargers,. 2 Polaras, and the top Monaco. The Coronet started with the Deluxe, then 440, Super Bee, 500, Charger and Charger 500. Although the Coronet 440 sold the most models, the Coronet brand came in second with sales of 32,050 units. The Coronet 500 came in a hardtop coupe, four door sedan, four door station wagons with two or three seats, and this super rare convertible coupe which had a base price of $ 3,069. All Coronet models rode on a 117 inch wheelbase. V8 engines providing power started with a 318 with 230 hp., a 340 with 275 hp., a 383 with 290 hp. A 426 with 425 hp., was used by a Coronet R / T, and a 440 with 375 - 390 hp. powered the R / T and the Coronet Super Bee. There were 28 paint choices this year and this rare example is finished in Light Blue. The Coronet 500 convertible was the least 500 model sold so seeing this excellent example is a rare sight.
