Asked about the plight of the Yazidi women who were raped by Islamic State militants and are not being accepted home as a result, she said she didn't know what was happening and for her it was all a lie.
"I still don't know to this day what happened to the yazidis, what's true."
"A lot of people, even myself, believe that the Islamic state started off with great intentions to have an Islamic state but somewhere it got hijacked. In this hijacking, it became communist and nationalised because it was all Iraqi run."
"You can't blame me for what the Islamic state done. I don't hold the same belief as them. I came to a caliphate in which Islam was meant to be implemented."
Asked about being radicalised, she replied:
"What is radical? I don't understand clearly like. Someone needs to explain it properly to me because I don't understand what radical is. In terms of being a Muslim and wanting to live in a Muslim state, I don't understand how that is radical, like."
"I didn't see any videos. I've heard about it but I've heard it's not true, just people lying about it.I didn't really see nothing because I was home all the time."
"I'm a Muslim. I believe in God of all mankind. I believe in living in a proper Islamic state just like the Kurds believe they need a Kurdistan, just like they "Yahood" believe they have Israel, just like Americans believe they should have a president and a an America. This is exactly the same thing for me."
Asked whether she thought it was worth it, she replied:
"It wasn't worth it because at the end of the day they failed.
We actually thought it was going to be an Islamic state and the best Muslims with the best character would be here and we'd be joined as one and we'd be very happy."
"I came here to an Islamic state and I didn't do anything."
Michael C. Murphy a retired Lieutenant Colonel and former Deputy Director of Military Intelligence told Prime Time that he believed the govt should have had a law in place to make it illegal to travel to an ISIS territory.
Then returning members of ISIS could then be convicted.
"It'll be very difficult to convict her of any crime."
He said to keep some under surveillance costs about €1 million a year.
He also said the compassion can be misplaced.
"The British took migrants out of the med and one of them turned out to be the Manchester bomber. "
Leo Varadkar has said he would like Lisa Smith to return home as he doesn't like separating children from their mothers (apart from all the time Tusla has separated children from their mothers).
