The Lotto Shop is a TV comedy drama that X-rays the day to day life around a local lotto shop and in particular the ambitions of three individuals of distinct backgrounds; Emeka an unemployed 'lover boy' graduate, Patience the lotto shop attendant and Cletus the habitual gambler. Though different backgrounds and ambitions; they are united in the same social quicksand and with their daily struggles intend to escape from.

ARON SUNDAY AS EMEKA
EMEKA: Emeka is a university graduate of about twenty-eight. He is unemployed, has been ever since he graduated but has fastidiously searched for work every single day, always hoping that the next firm will accept him. His life is a vicious cycle of unfulfilled dreams. First he is in love with patience, the young girl who runs the baba ijebu lotto stand, and he plans to marry her as soon as he can secure a job, which he believes will be soon. Second, on the off-chance that he fails to get his dream job, he plans to use mathematics to crack the lotto algorithm of pure chance. But he never succeeds in cracking the code but believes he will. Someday. He is Cletus’s conditional best friend.

VICTORY EMUEJE AS CLETUS
CLETUS: Cletus is a habitual gambler and regular street guy. He is roughly in his late 30s. They both live right next door to each other. Cletus is a culturally superstitious young man. He believes his luck will ‘shine’ in the next bet he places. He hustles odds and ends but his chief mainstay is gambling. And he is very proud of it, even though he loses more money than he wins.

JESSICA RAYMOND AS PATIENCE
PATIENCE: patience is in the last years of her twenties. She runs the lotto stand. She has had some decent education up to a Diploma. So she has some bragging rights, but never really grasps the concept of getting a real job, testament to her present job. She has a consented thing going on with Emeka but she doesn’t make a big deal out of it. She fancies him because he is sort of polished, but she is happy to take his money. She has no ambition of improving her status in life. She indulges Emeka to pass the time. In her secret heart though, patience feels deeply for Emeka and wishes he somehow makes it and rescue her from this life.
