On May 31, 2019, the U-M Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation held a "fireside chat" with Julie Rovner, Chief Washington Correspondent of Kaiser Health News, in conversation with IHPI director John Z. Ayanian, M.D., MPP. Presented as IHPI's fifth annual Director's Lecture, the discussion looked ahead to the 2020 election, which may be one of the most consequential in history for U.S. healthcare. Rovner discussed how state and federal campaigns and election results may shape health policy decision-making, and the potential implications for healthcare researchers.
