According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2017 national population projections, by the year 2030 all Baby Boomers will be older than 65. This means that older people are projected to outnumber children for the first time in US history. In Massachusetts, 14% of the current population is made up of senior citizens. Berkshire County has the second highest rate of seniors per capita in the state. The Great Barrington facility is one of the most active senior centers in Berkshire County.
