Today I'm joined by my friend Nick Kellie to discuss economy sweeping.

With Nick, we talked about that awkward phase when you are learning a new technique and it sounds forced at the beginning, but then it starts to flow more naturally.

Nick is a master of the economy picking sweep thing. He showed us this cool scale sequence where he uses pairs of strings and planned picking patterns to get this incredible fast guitar runs.

The cool thing about Nick's approach is that he doesn't use sweeping as this washy stream of notes, but as well defined musical phrases.
