The best path for the Chalice upgrades are Power and Efficiency 2 followed by the Rune upgrades. Once you have all the Runes upgraded, you will be able to get every single weapon from the Menagerie.

MAYHEM CLASH IS THE BEST PLAYLIST! This game mode is super fast, and you will be able to get tons of Imperials. Make sure to activate a Runefinder, and you will stock up on Runes as well. As soon as you have enough for Rune 2 + 3, unlock those, so that you can earn those Runes as well.
