Australian Government Introduces new temporary parent visa (subclass 870)

This is a temporary visa, unlike the other currently available visas. In a nutshell:

#1 YOU NEED A SPONSOR

Before this visa is granted, your sponsor needs to be approved.

#2 MINIMUM INCOME

Your sponsor’s income needs to be at least the average Australian full time ordinary weekly wage, which at the time of shooting this video is around $1,600.

If your sponsor’s income is less, they can combine their income with others, but there are some important rules.

#3 VISA VALIDITY

The visa will be issued for 3 to 5 years, but you can get it renewed, for a maximum period of 10 years.
