Recycling EV Batteries. Can it be done Affordably?

Recycling EV Batteries. Can it be done Affordably? Recycling of EV traction batteries. Can it be done Affordably?
Yes it can!
Sorry for the re-post, the original video was taken down due to a copyright dispute.

You can find more information about an actually operating industrial recycling solution for lithium-ion batteries at

Duesenfeld is recycling lithium-ion batteries and they do have a material recycling rate of 75 % already. With their own hydrometallurgical treatment they aim for a material recycling efficiency of 96% of the EV traction battery, compared to less then 25% which could be achieved theoretically by smelting processes alone. Duesenfeld processes save 40% of the carbon footprint of lithium-ion batteries of electric vehicles and can be done in a cost efficient manner.

Copyright note for the Duesenfeld recycling video of Li-ion batties: Video and photography of Li-ion recycling is by Wolfram Schroll.

Special thank you to Christian Hanisch of Duesenfeld.
