The Crew 2 Hot Shots - Live Summit, Tire Smoke, Part Calibration and more (New Features and Content)

The Crew 2 Hot Shots - Live Summit, Tire Smoke, Part Calibration and more (New Features and Content) The big Hot Shots update for The Crew 2 will be released on April 24 and it will add a variety of new features and new content to the game. I was able to play a preview build of the updated game over the past week and today I can show you what it will have to offer. In this video you can see an overview of the new features and the new content that will be added with the update. In my other video you can see the new cars in action.

Timeline:
0:08 Live Summit
13:20 Vanity Items
19:12 Text Emotes
20:13 Part Recalibration
24:26 New Events

The biggest new feature of the Hot Shots update is of course the Live Summit. In The Crew 1 the Summit was added with the Wild Run expansion and it was one of the most liked parts of the game for many players, even though it had some flaws back then. Now the Summit is back and in some of the weeks it will once again allow you to win some exclusive cars, like the Red Fury edition of the newly added Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X.

Every Summit in TC2 will run for one week and will have 9 different events, with 3 skills, 5 regular events and one "combo" event, where you use a different vehicle class than usual on a track. For example it could be a track from the Street Race discipline but with Alpha GP cars. Just like in TC1 a lot of the Summit events will also be restricted to certain vehicles, so that there is finally a reason to use more than just the top cars in competitive play.

Something that has been improved from TC1 is the transparency of the overall leaderboard. Now you can see exactly how many points for the overall ranking you gained from each of the individual events.

In this video you can see a quick overview of an example Summit, which should give you a good idea of how it works. Note that we didn't have fully upgraded cars in this preview build, so we didn't do any serious runs here. In the release version I will probably show you some top runs every week again though, just like in TC1, so make sure to follow my channel if you are interested in the Summit.

Another thing that will be added with the Hot Shots update are the tire and tire smoke vanity items, which give your car special effects like lightning or gold smoke.

There is also a new "Text Emote" feature, which is similar to the popular quick chat feature in Forza Horizon 4.

Another big thing is the performance part recalibration feature. When you scrap a performance part you will now earn spare parts and you can use money and spare parts to "recalibrate" one of the affixes on a part. As you can see in my example footage you always get 3 choices. You can keep the existing value, get a different value for the same affix or get a completely different affix. Recalibrating the same part multiple times will make it more and more expensive but this certainly makes it easier to get the parts that you want than having to purely rely on winning them.

Several new events in various disciplines are being added with the update as well, including finally a few proper rally tracks for the Rallycross discipline, although there should still be a lot more of those. And as you can see in some of the footage there is now also a racing line that can be turned on for events of certain disciplines like Hypercar.

One thing that a lot of people are probably most interested in are the new cars, so I made a separate video about those, even though you can already see some of them in this video as well. :P

Here you can see my video about the 3 completely new cars that will be added: (Bugatti Divo, Lamborghini Egoista and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X)
