Polling teams for far flung being despatched DIPHU, Apr.16: As the second phase of polling will take place on April 18 and for the far flung areas polling parties have started to reached to their respective Polling Stations (PS) assigned to them under the No.3 Autonomous District Parliamentary Constituency comprising of four election district i.e Halflong, Diphu, Bokajan and Hamren falling under five LA segment i.e. Diphu, Halflong, Bokajan, Howraghat and Baithalangso.
The Diphu Govt. College here which is the strong room for Diphu election district comprising of two LA segment Diphu and Howraghat, is crowded with poll officials. The college playground is packed with busses, trucks and medium vehicles as poll officials assigned in far flung areas are being dispatch from today.
On April 18 a total of 7, 95,084 will go to poll. Out of this number male voters are 4, 04,533; female voters 3, 90,545; third (trans gender) voters 6 and disable voters 1,610.
Speaking to Hills Live, Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong and Returning Officer, Mukul Kumar Saikia said, as polling for the second phase will take place on April 18 and for far flung areas polling parties have started dispatching them to their respective PS.
No.3 Autonomous District Parliamentary Constituency comprising of four election districts i.e Halflong, Diphu, Bokajan and Hamren has a total of 7, 95,084 voters and out of this number male voters are 4, 04,533; female 3, 90,545; third (trans gender) voters 6 and disable voters 1,610.
The DC also informed there are 1,174 PS, out of which 242 in Halflong LA segment, 212 in Bokajan, 166 in Howraghat, 258 in Diphu and 296 Baithalangso.
Yesterday on April 15 we have dispatch 8 parties of polling officials under Halflong election district. Today another 222 polling parties were sent and on April 17 the remaining 944 polling parties will be sent to their respective PS.”
A total of 5,745 poll officials are engaged and out of which 1200 for Halflong election district, 1020 for Bokajan, 2045 for Diphu and 1480 for Hamren, DC told.
