Wyatt scaled down a popular design of trailer.. and had a skilled laser cutter, etch some epic slices into this steel. We discussed having adjustable sluice box angles, as well as the heavy weight of the trailer.. with a lower centre of gravity. if you notice in the end of this video.. I place an optima car battery (that powers the sluice pumps) into the belly of the trommel. This is to add to the stability of the unit. This unit now weighs (with battery) approximately 50lbs. It is very stable at the bottom.. especially with the battery.
After laying it out, I get to work using a Flux Core hobby welder. I dont really see the need to get a gas machine.. as I dont weld too often.. though I understand that there is much difference in the quality of welds. For me.. this welder is excellent.. and cost less than $220. Here is a similar on Amazon, if you are thinking about getting a hobby welder and want to check it out:
Wyatt has a long standing family history in the trucking industry. He has thorough knowledge of a variety of different styles of trailer.. and I am happy to have his knowledge and skills put to work for the RCSparks Mining Company.
Check it out.. and see what you think.. and Stay Tuned to see this trailer in action in the upcoming episodes of YouTube GOLD, Season 2.. now filming Episode 4 !
